Facts: The five wind turbines of the Bürger wind farm each have an output of three megawatts, a rotor diameter of 112 meters and a hub height of 94 meters. The wind farm generates around 47 million kilowatt hours of environmentally friendly electricity per year, which can supply around 40,000 people. History: In 2007 the idea was born among 10 inhabitants of Niebüll, who owned 40% of the equity. 60% contributed 850 further citizens of Niebüll. In 2011, the plants went online. Success factors: interaction of citizens and local politics, which established the model of citizen participation as a prerequisite for project implementation.
